The 6th Multidisciplinary Symposium on Disinformation in Open Online Media (MISDOOM) will take place at the University of Münster, Germany. The Symposium will bring together international researchers from multiple backgrounds, such as communication science, computer science, computational social science, political communication, journalism and media studies.

General Chairs
Thorsten Quandt is the Professor of Online Communication at the University of Münster. His work focuses on societal changes connected to the Internet and new media. Recent research includes studies on disinformation, propaganda and “dark participation” in online media. His research group’s approaches and methods operate at the intersection of communication studies, psychology, and data science.
Christian Grimme is a computer scientist and heads the Computation Social Science & Systems Analysis research group at the Department of Information Systems at University of Münster. His research is focused on investigating the automation of communication in social networks, the technologies for implementing social bots, new methods for detecting these automata, as well as the generation and impact of artificial content.
